Amanda K. Nelson is an Associate Attorney at Adams+Crow Law Firm. Prior to joining us in 2022, Ms. Nelson worked as an associate at an Albuquerque law firm specializing in litigation in both state and federal courts. Her experience covers a wide variety of practice areas including employment and labor, civil rights, public records law, criminal, and general civil litigation.

Ms. Nelson received a Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2020. While in law school, Ms. Nelson clerked for several prominent Albuquerque law firms. Ms. Nelson was the teaching assistant for the School of Law’s Legislative and Administrative Process course, where she was able to demonstrate her skill in navigating the New Mexico Legislature. Ms. Nelson also participated in the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project. As a Marshall Brennan Fellow, Ms. Nelson taught constitutional literacy to high school students in Albuquerque’s South Valley. Ms. Nelson served as one of two third year law students on the UNM School of Law Admissions Committee. Ms. Nelson was a voting member of the Admissions Committee tasked with reviewing applicants for the incoming law class. Upon graduation, Ms. Nelson was awarded the National Association of Women Lawyers Award for her academic achievements and her potential to contribute to the advancement of women in society. Ms. Nelson was also awarded the Clinical Honors Award for her work in the Economic Justice Clinic.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Nelson worked as a Legal Assistant handling cases involving abuse. Ms. Nelson also interned in the House Appropriations & Finance Committee where she gained a considerable understanding of the legislative budgetary process and public finance.

Ms. Nelson continues to guest speak in high school classes teaching constitutional literacy as well as mentoring high school and undergraduate students that area interested in attending law school.
