On Saturday, December 8, 2018, Sam Adams and Dr. David Peercy, APS Board President, will be presenting at the 2018 New Mexico School Boards Association (NMSBA) Annual Convention on “District Equity – What is the Board’s Role?” This hands-on session well engage participants in identifying potential district equity policy and practices, establishing productive dialogue among school board members, and developing effective strategies for modeling and advocating for a culture of equity. Recently, Sam and Alana have provided several trainings on Sexual Harassment in the #MeToo Era.
Sam Adams first presented on this important topic at the Women’s Bar Association and State Bar Diversity CLE in April 2018 with Ms. Pamelya Herndon, the Executive Director of the Southwest Women’s Law Center. Sam and Pamelya were asked to present again on #MeToo sexual harassment training issues as part of the New Mexico State Bar Annual Meeting on August 10, 2018. Alana De Young was pleased to join Sam to present on the #MeToo movement’s impact on sexual harassment training at the 2018 Employment and Labor Institute on October 5, 2018, a CLE for employment law practitioners throughout New Mexico.
